Manufacturing activity rebounded to 3.8% compared to -7.3% in April. In addition, production contracted less for electricity, gas, steam & air-conditioning supply (-19.7% vs -29.8%), mining & quarrying (-7.6% vs -20.2%), and water supply (-3.8% vs -17.9%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, production shrank by 2.8% in May, the first monthly decline in three months, reversing from an upwardly revised 3% gain in April.
