Lego Manufacturing Kft is expanding its packaging and warehouse capacity in 2023-2025, creating 300 jobs, Szijjártó said. The state is supporting the investment with HUF 4.3 bln, he added.
The Danish company's local unit will also expand its solar park and undertake a geothermal energy project, he said.
In a press release, Lego said the construction of a new production hall at the base in Nyíregyháza would start in 2024 and boost the output of Lego sets there by 30%.
A combined 30,000 sqm of building space will be added at the base, bringing the total area to 262,000 sqm. The number of packaging lines will increase by one-third to 68.
Production at the new hall will start in H2 2025.
Around 3,300 people work at the Lego base in Nyíregyháza at present.
