The new unit represents the company’s latest development, enabling Continest to paint its unique foldable containers and components largely in-house using advanced, modern technologies. At the inauguration ceremony, András Cser-Palkovics, Mayor of Székesfehérvár, delivered the opening address.

The nearly HUF 50 million investment was financed entirely from the company’s own resources and completed within six months. According to the company’s calculations, the project will pay for itself within two years. Following the Sheet Metal Plant, Locksmith Plant and Assembly Plant, the new Painting Facility becomes Continest’s fourth production unit, where high-capacity, professional painting of container components will soon begin.

Mayor Cser-Palkovics emphasized, “Continest is an excellent example of why it is worth developing in Székesfehérvár, creating new jobs and realizing significant investments.”

He noted that the city is proud that the company established its factory in the city in 2021; today its innovative products are present in more than 30 countries. Beyond Europe, Continest units manufactured in Székesfehérvár can be found in the United States, Australia, and the Middle East.

Bringing painting capabilities in-house offers clear advantages: logistics costs decrease, processes accelerate, quality control strengthens and production lead times shorten, the company noted. The development also supports Continest’s long-term strategy of covering the full value chain of its container solutions—from production to delivery and operation—with even greater efficiency.

At the heart of the new facility is a 10 × 4-meter spray booth equipped with four-row LED lighting, wall-mounted extraction and overhead air supply, meeting all current environmental standards. Solvent-based painting of key container components—such as legs, frames and panel holders—will be performed here with high quality and environmentally conscious surface treatment. The booth’s modern design and state-of-the-art electronic control systems ensure safe, user-friendly and reliable operation.

Safety was a key priority: the facility includes a dedicated 4 × 4-meter paint storage room, where materials can be stored and prepared under controlled, well-ventilated conditions, ensuring a clean-air environment and safe day-to-day operation.

Bence Juhász-Kriston, production director of the Continest Factory, said: “Our supplier partner for this investment was Metron Hungary Kft., while the implementation was supported by Polyax Kft., owner and operator of the factory halls. The launch of the new painting capacity will be led by two highly experienced specialists who were actively involved in the preparation phase. Together with our team, they will finalize the plant layout and workflows to ensure a smooth and efficient start-up.”

Strategic director Dániel Tegzes added, “Creating our own painting unit does not mean the end of our subcontractor partnerships—we will continue to rely on them for certain tasks. At the same time, this investment demonstrates that Continest’s collaborations with both customers and subcontractors are built for the long term, based on quality and mutual efficiency.”

The opening of the new painting facility is one of several developments completed at the Continest factory in 2025. A new extraction system has been installed in the locksmith plant, and a new office and server room were completed in the assembly plant. All these investments serve the same purpose: more efficient production, an improved working environment and continuous development.
