The new operating system is free for those who use the legal versions of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems, and it is preinstalled on new computers and tablets free of charge, the press release added.
“A new era of Windows is starting today,” Terry Myerson, executive vice president, Operating Systems Group, said, adding that the new service will be available as a “free upgrade”.
