The package reportedly arrived to Hungary from the United States, containing what purported to be imitation jewelry with a declared value of approximately HUF 3.7 million, the portal reported.
Customs officials became suspicious, however, and examined the jewelry to find an itemized list indicating its true value to be considerably higher.
A total of 2,000 items were seized by the authorities, which launched proceedings on suspicion of fraud, the portal added.
