It is the largest state-supported R&D investment in Hungary’s history to date, the report noted.
The Hungarian government is supporting the investment with HUF 8 bln, which will create 124 jobs, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said. He emphasized that the project will help position the country at the forefront of the artificial intelligence revolution.
Szijjártó highlighted that U.S.-Hungarian relations are entering “a golden age,” driven by a new, efficient, and proactive economic partnership, a priority in discussions between U.S. President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
Currently, around 1,200 U.S.-owned companies operate in Hungary, employing 100,000 people.
Over the past decade, American firms have made 140 major investments in Hungary with government support, creating 19,000 jobs, the minister said.
