The number of new vehicles registered in Hungary rose 19.8% yr/yr to 4,933 in August, auto-industry researcher DataHouse reported on Thursday.
The monthly increase followed a 10.6% decline in the previous month.
The number of new passenger vehicles registered rose 13.5% yr/yr to 3,404 in August.
The number of new heavy commercial vehicles registered rose 152% to 363.
The number of new buses registered declined 42.1% yr/yr in August to 11 and the number of light commercial vehicles rose 29.6% yr/yr in August to 1,003.
The number of new motorcycles registered fell 16.5% to 152.
In January-August this year, the number of new vehicles registered rose 9% yr/yr to 41,016 in Hungary. The number of new vehicles sold was down compared with the preceding months as 5,044 new vehicles were registered in July and 5,580 in June.
The biggest increase in the period – 112.8% – was registered in the category of heavy commercial vehicles, of which 2,569 were registered, while the number of motorcycles registered in January-August dropped 20.1% to 1,555.
The number of new light commercial vehicles registered rose 20.8% yr/yr to 6,556 in January-August.
The number of new passenger vehicles registered was up 4.5% in January-August, totalling 30,196.
The number of new buses registered in January-August fell 11.4% yr/yr to 140.
