The Hungarian Vehicle Importers Association (MGE) expects new car sales to climb to 58,000 this year from 43,479 in 2010, association head Péter Erdélyi said at a press conference on Tuesday.
MGE projects new car sales will increase to 75,000 in 2012, 90,000 in 2013 and 110,000 in 2014.
New car sales came to 60,206 in 2009.
The rate of non-performing loans in vehicle leasing companies’ portfolios has stabilized at 7-8%, said Hungarian Leasing Association head Gábor Lévai. People are waiting longer to replace their old vehicles, he added.
