Hungary’s industrial output growth slowed down to 9.2% in March as export sales rose less and the decline of domestic sales increased slightly, figures released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) in a second reading on Friday show. The figures confirmed a first reading released on May 6.
Hungary’s industrial output rose 9.2% according to both unadjusted and workday-adjusted figures in the twelve months to March, and was down a seasonally- and workday-adjusted 3.6% from February, also unchanged from the preliminary figures.
Export sales rose 14.5% in twelve months compared to 18.5% in February, and domestic sales declined 2.9% from a year earlier following a 2.6% decline in February, workday-adjusted figures show.
In a seasonally and workday-adjusted monthly comparison, export sales fell 2.1% after increases in the previous two months, including a 1.7% rise in February. Domestic sales were down an adjusted 1.0% from a month earlier after rising 4.7% in February, which, though, followed monthly declines in the previous two months.
January-March output was up 12.2% from a year earlier. Q1 export sales rose 17.1% in one year and domestic sales fell 5.1% in the period.
