The more than HUF 3.7 billion investment delivers a fully automated, remotely operated infrastructure that enhances network resilience and reduces the likelihood of power outages affecting local homes and businesses.
With the newly added capacity, the network is equipped to serve expansions in and around Kaposvár, including new residential areas, industrial parks and high-energy-demand facilities.
The project included the construction of a new switching and control building of nearly 400 square meters, along with two transformation units that step down high-voltage electricity to medium-voltage levels for everyday use.
Future-proofing was a key focus throughout the development, E.ON says.
The new equipment is capable of accommodating greater performance needs, and medium-voltage network cables were installed underground to replace former overhead lines, making the system more resistant to weather-related and environmental impacts.
