“I condemn the attack on journalists,” Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic was quoted as saying.
Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic asked the Hungarian government to establish responsibility for the attack on the television crew of Radio Television Serbia (RTS), according to a statement from the ministry, carried by Serbian news portal b92.
According to a report by RTS, their journalists Vladana Hadži Mijailović, Miroslav Đurašinović and Jovan Djurovic were all injured in the attack, and were transported to Subotica in Serbia for medical care. The crew was covering todayʼs clashes between Hungarian police and asylum seekers at the border
The journalists said they were clearly covering the news, and they do not know why they were attacked.
According to another report by news portal b92, the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) decried this “unjustifiable use of force and violation of international regulations on freedom of work of journalists.”
