The number of mobile phone subscriptions increased 86,000 to 9.4 million in the first three months of 2006. At the end of March, there were 295,000 fewer pre-paid subscribers and 583,000 more post-paid subscribers. The number of mobile phone calls rose 16% in Q1 2006 over the same period a year earlier and turnover, in terms of minutes, was up 29%. Subscribers talked for 281 minutes a month on average and the average length per call was 1.7 minutes.
