The municipality does not plan to sell the local airport, because they don’t want to reimburse the EU subsidies received for environmental remediation works at the site, Kósa said. Debrecen Cargo and Logistics Center will be constructed near the airport with the investment of Xanga Holding Kft and Xanga LLC, managing director of Xanga Holding István Herdon said. The €20 million (about $30 million) investment will take place in three phases, including the construction of a 2,000 square meter cargo hall, a 40,000 square meter logistics hall and a 35-hectare real estate area for further logistics development, Herdon said.
