The draft resolution envisages the deployment of 155 troops to continue the Bulgarian participation in the humanitarian mission at Camp Ashraf in Iraq until December 31, 2008.
In March 2006, Sofia sent 120 soldiers and 34 support personnel to guard a camp for Iranian refugees in Ashraf, 70 kilometers (40 miles) north of Baghdad. The non-combat unit was to stay for a year.
