Hospes to open a new hotel in Hungary in 2009

The hotel chain Hospes Hotels & Moments is planning to open a €12 million, five-star hotel in the Hungarian capital Budapest, as part of its international expansion plan, the company said.

„Hospes is currently considering different expansion opportunities, both national and international,” the statement wrote. „Hospes’ objective is reaching a 20-30 hotel portfolio in the next years.” The opening of the new Budapest hotel, scheduled for 2009, is in line with Hospes’ international expansion, which started by opening a unit in Paris.

The expansion plan also involves opening new units in the Czech capital Prague, Austria’s Vienna, Germany’s Berlin and London. Hospes, part of Spain’s Fuenso group currently operates nine hotels mainly in Spain, all in the four- or five-five star range. The company did not disclose the exact planned location of the 55-room hotel in Budapest, but added that the unit will also house a Bodyna SpA. (neurope.eu)
