When asked to pick the most important criteria for their “ideal job”, 59% of respondents chose high pay; 59% creativity, commitment and job interest; 52% collaboration with colleagues; and 35% a short commute between home and work. But when asked what the most important considerations were for picking their current job, 56% of respondents said the fact that they had an employment contract with full benefits, 42% said workplace proximity and only 21% mentioned high pay, MTI reported.
Career opportunity was a low priority for both ideal and actual jobs as well, important for just 23% and 11% of respondents, respectively, according to MTI.
Katalin Siska Boor, head of HR at Groupama said the survey disproves the widely held notion that career opportunity is very important for Hungarians.
