Presenting its findings, Randstad said more than half of Hungarians would prefer to retire before the age of 60, and an additional one third would continue working until the age of 62 utmost. Only one tenth of employees would like to work until the current retirement age of 65.
Nevertheless, Hungarians have a realistic idea of their possibilities of retirement; answering the question as to how long they will have to keep working, interviewees selected the age of 66 on average, managing director of Randstad Hungary Sándor Baja said.
Almost half of Hungarians said they expected to be able to stop working at the age of 63-65, but 34pc said they would not be able to retire before the age of 65.
Interviewees were also asked about the circumstances under which they would be happy to work for longer. Hungarians considered less physical and psychical stress as the most important factor, followed by a more pleasant work atmosphere, shorter working hours and a more relaxed work schedule.
