The investment will take place over three years, Marschall said. Diehl has already bought a cable factory shut down during the crisis, and it has an option to purchase another two-hectare plot from the local council, he added.
Production at the base will start at the end of 2011 with 40 workers. Afterward, headcount will steadily rise to 150.
The plant will make sidewalls and ventilation systems for Airbus and Boeing a well as Eurocopter and Embraer aircraft. Annual revenue of the base is expected to reach €15 million.
