Analysts polled by business daily Napi Gazdasag estimate that year-on-year inflation slowed to 3.8% in June from 3.9% in May.
The Central Statistics Office (KSH) will publish June inflation data on Tuesday.
The analysts said slowing inflation would be supported by a high base for energy prices, moderate food prices and falling consumer durable prices. They expected year-on-year inflation to remain below 4% for the rest of the year.
City analysts polled by MTI’s London correspondent also put June CPI at 3.8%. Estimates by the analysts for Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America-Merrill Lynch, Barclays Capital, JP Morgan, UBS, Capital Economics and 4cast ranged between 3.7% and 4.1%.
Inflation peaked at 4.7% in April after accelerating since January.
