About 1,250 are in attendance at the summit, which has an official goal of aiming “to contribute to the elaboration of water-related sustainable development goals set at the Rio+20 Conference in June 2012.
“The summit will also provide guidance on the most pressing water issues – drinking water, sanitation, wastewater treatment, integrated water management, international water cooperation, innovative water technologies – with a view to defining the priorities of global development policy post-2015.”
