The business forum, entitled “Ukrainian Business in Hungary – Results and Prospects After Three Years Since the Start of the Full-Scale War Against Ukraine” was hosted by the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary, in collaboration with Nova Post Magyarország and the Board Budapest community of Ukrainian entrepreneurs
The event brought together Ukrainian and international entrepreneurs, diplomats, and representatives of public initiatives to discuss economic resilience, investment opportunities, and ongoing humanitarian efforts.
The forum opened with a moment of silence to honor those who have lost their lives in Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine. Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary Fedir Shandor delivered an introductory speech, emphasizing the critical role of international support, economic partnerships, and the resilience of the Ukrainian economy despite the challenges of war.
Focus on Investment and Business Opportunities
A key focus of the event was on investment and business opportunities in Ukraine. The economic section of the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary presented promising areas for investment and participation in reconstruction efforts, as well as “Nazovni”, a digital platform designed to facilitate the globalization of Ukrainian businesses.

Martina Poljak, an economic diplomat from the Croatian Embassy in Hungary, shared insights on cooperation between Hungarian and Croatian companies. She also highlighted Croatia’s significant humanitarian aid contributions to Ukraine and underscored the importance of business initiatives in sustaining economic ties.
Representing the Ukrainian business community Board Budapest, Maksym Kurganov outlined the activities of Ukrainian entrepreneurs who have relocated to Hungary. He also discussed potential avenues for further collaboration between Hungarian and Ukrainian businesses.
Humanitarian aid efforts were another central theme of the forum. Balázs Trautmann, chairman of the Hungarian charity organization Kárpátaljai Sárkányellátó (Transcarpathian Dragons Support Fund), shared his organization’s experience in providing aid to Ukraine.
The intersection of business and culture was also highlighted, with Iryna Nikolenko from Pictoric, the Ukrainian Club of Illustrators, showcasing artistic initiatives that promote Ukrainian culture through business partnerships. She shared success stories of collaboration between creative industries and commercial enterprises.
The forum provided a valuable platform for B2B and B2G networking, fostering new partnerships and potential business ventures. Participants also had the opportunity to experience two virtual 3D exhibitions, “Living in the War” and “Moment of Truth” .
