A strike committee was formed on March 24, after the workers union deemed the 2.5% wage increase by the management board to be unacceptable.
The strike on March 31 was successful as management has since promised a 10% wage increase for assembly line workers retroactive to January 1. Blue collar workers who carry out indirect services and administrative staff will both receive a 4% wage increase, while factory workers will receive a 5% increase, according to Hungarian online daily index.hu.
Blue collar and factory workers will also receive the previously promised 13th month wage plus HUF 78 thousand in holiday compensation. While office workers will only receive the 13th month of wages in two instalments, index.hu reported.
