The number of holiday days that employees are eligible to take will not change, and the daily 8 hours and weekly 40 hours of work time will also not change “in basic cases”, said Sándor Czomba, state secretary of the employment policy department of the Ministry for National Economy.
Czomba said that the government intends to keep the practice under which companies can temporarily reduce the weekly figure of mandatory working hours to 36, and than they it can increase it to 44 hours, to make up for the lost hours.
He added that the comprehensive modification of the current Labor Code will be ready by fall 2011.
