If the rights of Britons living in Europe are not hurt, then the British governmentʼs position is that the rights of EU citizens in the U.K. should not be hurt either, Orbán said, according to Hungarian news agency MTI, a point which the Hungarian leader tagged as an important result of his meeting with May.
Orbán recalled that approximately 150,000 Hungarian citizens earn their income by either working in Britain or being employed by British-owned companies in Hungary. “They have interests that we must protect, therefore we are interested in keeping the commercial aspect of British-Hungarian relations open and free in the future,” he said, according to MTI.
