Both the park and stadium complex of Győr’s football team were raided by the Hungarian police in an investigation of the Quaestor brokerage scandal, attorney general Tibor Ibolya said earlier, noting that on March 11 the police held four searches and confiscated tens of thousands of paper documents and 800 gigabytes of digital data in connection with the Quaestor brokerage’s scandal.

The stadium and the club are both reportedly owned by Quaestor.

The National Bank of Hungary suspended Quaestor’s operating license on March 6 due to irregularities, and the brokerage is currently under investigation on suspicion of fraud, with CEO Csaba Tarsoly being held in pre-trial detention. Quaestor allegedly issued about HUF 150 bln in unsanctioned, and apparently unbacked, bonds prior to its insolvency.
