BBJ: How did you like the car overall?
David Blunck: The car was fun to drive. The X5’s solid performance and attentive design is par for the course for BMW. What made the experience special was the sport package, which, as much as KRESZ [the Highway Code] allows, of course, made for a powerful ride.
BBJ: What was the most surprising or most useful feature?
DB: Whilst the G-Force measure certainly enhanced the rocket-like experience, I would have to mention the small details, like touch sensitive seat controls.
BBJ: What kind of driver would you consider yourself to be?
DB: I am a conservative driver, probably one too boring to test the full limits of the X5M!
BBJ: Would you recommend the X5M as a business or family car, or both?
DB: The car is plenty big enough to handle the family and related stuff, without being overly ostentatious.
BBJ: What did your family think of the car?
DB: The kids’ favorite feature was the massive display screen and navigation app, what else?
BBJ: Would it suit an executive fleet?
DB: BMWs are always a safe choice for an executive fleet.
BBJ: Where did you take it and why?
DB: I wanted to test the car in a demanding, rough environment. The tough “urban jungle” of Budapest streets was the perfect testing ground: full of hazards and predators!
BBJ: What kind of manager would you describe yourself as?
DB: I have my feet solidly on the operational ground, but with my head in the clouds of long-term thinking.
BBJ: How long has Invitech been in Hungary?
DB: Invitech is a Hungarian native company, with roots stretching back to the privatization of the telecommunications industry in the early 1990s.
BBJ: What is your staff headcount?
DB: The Invitech team numbers around 600.
BBJ: Any special attributes about Invitech’s presence in Hungary?
DB: Telecommunications is a dynamic industry, and Invitech has transformed itself as the industry has evolved, from primarily a telephony-based company in the early days, to ultra-high-speed connectivity and nowadays the converged worlds of cloud computing, IT operations and telecommunications networks. It is an exciting industry.
