A recently completed audit of state-owned farmland in Hungary shows about 100,00 hectares — 5% of the 2m hectares of state-owned farmland — was not registered, Ministry of Rural Development state secretary Ie Farkas said in Monday’s issue of daily Magyar Hirlap.
The audit shows about 30% of the farmland was being used for purposes other than that registered.
The National Land Fund Management Organization will call tenders from September for the utilization of fallow farmland.
