“We are happy to be developing our partnership with GenePlanet, and increasing the range of high-quality services we are offering to our Hungarian clients. With GenePlanet’s DNA tests, our clients can obtain valuable insights into their health and wellness,” highlights Tamás Póda, chief commercial officer of Synlab Hungary.
Already present in more than 35 countries worldwide, GenePlanet will offer services in Hungary to both professional and commercial clients in the medical, healthcare and pharmacological spheres, as well as catering directly to individual customers who want to have their own genetic traits tested. The company’s genetic testing focuses on both clinical and lifestyle factors.
Alongside its partnership with Synlab Hungary, GenePlanet has built its own local medical team in Hungary, working in cooperation with medical professionals to make certain tests directly available for patients.
GenePlanet has successfully raised a EUR 20 million investment from BlackPeak Capital, and an array of investors to support its global expansion.
According to a statement shared by GenePlanet, “The funding is aimed at supporting GenePlanet's further global expansion, with focus on Europe and Latin America. It will also aim to foster new product development and invest in building a robust data infrastructure.”
“We are delighted to be entering the Hungarian market as part of our long-term growth plan to deliver our cutting-edge genetic testing solutions to Hungarian businesses, organizations, and consumers. These services have the potential to transform healthcare and wellness,” says Marko Bitenc, CEO of GenePlanet.
“Hungary offers an excellent venue for presenting these services to a well-developed market with a worldwide reputation for healthcare services and pharmacological expertise,” he continues.
In addition to the partnership, the investment will facilitate GenePlanet’s ambition to develop an advanced large language model AI system, an innovative platform to enable more sophisticated browsing and interpretation of the human genome.
“We're excited about the possibilities this funding round opens up for us,” shares Bitenc.
"With this financial boost, we can accelerate our expansion, aiming to establish profitable operations in 50 countries within the next five years, while also investing in cutting-edge AI technology to revolutionize genetic testing,” he adds.
