At present, the 2013 budget bill allocates HUF 158 billion for drug subsidies. The 2012 budget allocates HUF 219 billion for drug subsidies, but the latest data on general government spending by the National Economy Ministry show the expenditure target for drug subsidies is HUF 278 billion for the full year. At the end of October, spending on the subsidies reached HUF 262 billion, according to the ministry’s data.
