According to the leader (pictured), the Hungarian decision came in response to the European Commission’s idea of a quota system. He added that, although he understands the reasons behind Hungaryʼs decision the “rules of a game must be obeyed, otherwise there will be chaos”.
Although Czech Republic is not directly affected by the Hungarian decision, the prime minister believes that it is a “sign to Europe that it is unable to solve the refugees crisis”.
Former Czech foreign minister Cyril Svoboda said the Hungarian decision was “dangerous”, and he believes it goes against European alliance. “We either handle this issue together on a European level, or individually and let migrants sweep us away,” Svoboda reportedly said.
