Croatian police issued a warrant for Hernádiʼs arrest in the autumn of 2013 on suspicion he bribed former prime minister Ivo Sanader to give MOL management rights in Croatian peer INA.
The Croatian office of Interpol has been notified by Interpol in Vienna that the search for Hernádi has been suspended, Croatian police spokeswoman Jelena Bikic told Hina.
Hina learnt from “unofficial” sources that Austria and Germany suspended the Croatian warrant citing the principle of double jeopardy.
An appellate court in Budapest upheld late last year Hernádiʼs acquittal on charges of international bribery and other crimes.
MOL was not a party to the lawsuit.
