The individual instrumental competitions are organized every other year. The deadline for submissions for the composition competition is August 31. Works for solo piano should give pianists the opportunity to show both their musical and technical skills, a press release sent to Budapest Business Journal says.
Members of the jury include composer Gyula Fekete, vice rector at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and the artistic director of Bartók World Competition of Composition 2018, composer Thomas Adés, the Israeli-born composer Chaya Chernowin, the Korean-born and Germany-based composer Unsuk Chin and the Russian pianist Andrei Korobeinikov. The Prize Fund of the competition is EUR 10,000.
The winning works will be performed by three Hungarian performers: János Balázs, acclaimed pianist; Balázs Fülei, the head of the Chamber Music Department of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and the Liszt Award-winning pianist Dénes Várjon.
