The office announced that the second phase of the Budapest Complex Integrated Sewage (BKISZ) project had been completed. The aim was to solve the decades-long sewage problem in previously unsewered areas and replace the outdated Budaörs (10 km southwest) sewage treatment plant.
Thanks to the development, more than 15,000 properties in the capital can be connected to the modern wastewater network, making life for 42,000 citizens more comfortable. Replacing the Budaörs wastewater treatment plant will affect another 29,000 people in the town, offering modern wastewater drainage and treatment.
