Baldauf will replace Támas Flesch, who will remain honorary chairman of the association.
The new president's work will be supported by VP Balázs Kovács, the CEO of Danubius Hotels.
András Gendur, the co-owner of La Perle Noire, an award-winning restaurant in Budapest, will head the association's gastronomy section until the end of 2022.
The association's leadership will continue to initiate talks with decision-makers on labor market challenges, on support for hotels amid the drop in demand among international travelers, and on the need for promotional campaigns.
"The hotel industry and tourism is by no means over the crisis caused by the coronavirus; a full recovery is expected to take years," MSZESZ said.
