This summer, 35,000 people were waiting for surgery, while the fourth wave of the pandemic has now extended waiting lists further.

Currently, patients are waiting for 17,000 cataract surgeries, 9,000 knee replacements, 7,600 hip replacements, and more than 1,000 for laparoscopic gallstones.

Before the pandemic, there were typically 25,000-28,000 patients on waiting lists in Hungary.
