Work realized abroad fell 10.6% year-on-year, while domestic construction activity, which accounts for more than 91% of total production increased by 3.3% led by new construction works (+5.5%) and repairs and maintenance works (+5.8%).
Breaking construction according to the production focus, construction on buildings dropped 3.7% while civil engineering, which mainly includes the construction of motorways grew 23.7%.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis construction output fell 0.2% while considering the first quarter of 2022, it increased 4.9% year-on-year, reaching EUR 1.1 billion led by both domestic and foreign works.
