Among the largest annual decreases, canned meat prices dropped 26.7%, butter fell 15.6%, fresh fruit declined 14.4% and pork was down 11%. Cheese prices decreased 10.2%, while sugar and milk became 8.2% and 8.1% cheaper, respectively.

However, potatoes cost 7.8% more, while coffee served in catering establishments and prepaid canteen meals both rose 6.6%. Edible oil prices increased 6.4%, and restaurant meals became 5.8% more expensive.

Services prices rose 4.9% year-on-year. Theater tickets increased 17.6%, freight transport charges climbed 14.9% and taxi fares rose 11.5%. Postal services cost 9.6% more, while personal care services and vehicle repairs and maintenance increased 8.4% and 8.3%, respectively.

Alcohol and tobacco prices rose 3.3%, including a 4.2% increase for tobacco. Household energy prices fell 4%, with gas down 11% and electricity up 1.3%.

Consumer durables became 1.2% more expensive. Jewelry prices jumped 26%, while television sets became 4.8% cheaper. Pharmaceutical prices increased 1.3%, and motor fuels cost 6.9% more than a year earlier.

On a monthly basis, motor fuel prices rose 5.9%, while clothing and footwear became 1.3% more expensive.

Food prices edged down 0.1% from August, or 0.3% excluding food and beverage serving services. Fresh fruit prices fell 4.2% and potatoes became 4% cheaper, while fresh vegetables rose 2.5% and pork increased 2.1%.

Services prices declined 0.5% month-on-month, with domestic vacations down 7.9% and vacations abroad down 4%. Educational services, however, became 2.5% more expensive.

Household energy prices increased 0.2%, including a 2.7% rise in firewood prices, while gas and electricity prices were unchanged.
