According to reporting by news outlet G7, the company says it has lowered consumer prices on 1,500 products, 75% of its range, since the beginning of the year, leaving HUF 60 billion with shoppers and requiring equivalent internal cost savings.

In August, Aldi recorded a 10% average price decrease compared with last year, outperforming the national deflation rate of 4.8%.

Stores have been redesigned with more pallet‑based displays, fewer shelves, and reduced non‑food quantities, freeing up space for groceries and lowering logistics costs by moving fewer product types in larger volumes.

Aldi added that regulatory uncertainty makes network expansion difficult, and it sees the current period of falling food prices as an ideal moment to phase out the state-mandated margin‑control regulation affecting 200 key products.
