Vitézy said the 45-kilometer dual carriageway would establish a direct high-speed road connection between the M3 motorway and the Romanian city of Satu Mare. The project also includes a new border crossing.

“It is important to recognize that inherited investment projects represent significant expenditures in the central budget for the next two to three years,” he said.
Even without new projects, existing road investment commitments will place a burden of hundreds of billions of forints on the 2027 budget, the minister added.
“Against this backdrop, we are seeking the necessary leeway and funding sources for the long-overdue renovation of the national road network,” Vitézy said.
