Real earnings grew 7.8%.
Net earnings rose faster than gross pay partly because of expanded family tax allowances and tax benefits for mothers.
KSH highlighted the higher family tax allowance introduced Jan. 1, 2026, alongside personal income tax exemptions for mothers raising three children, effective Oct. 1, 2025, and mothers under 40 raising two children, introduced Jan. 1, 2026. Expanded tax relief for mothers under 30 also contributed to the increase.
Median gross earnings reached HUF 618,200, up 8.5% from a year earlier, while median net earnings rose 9.7% to HUF 437,900.
Regular average gross earnings, excluding premiums and one-month bonuses, increased 7% to HUF 706,900.
In the business sector, regular gross earnings averaged HUF 699,000, up 6.8% year-on-year. The corresponding figure in the budgetary sector rose 7.6% to HUF 721,200, while nonprofit sector earnings increased 7.2% to HUF 741,700.
The 7.8% rise in real earnings reflected net wage growth alongside a 1.2% year-on-year increase in consumer prices.
