Real earnings increased 7.6% year-over-year as consumer prices rose 1.7% over the same period.

KSH said the stronger increase in net earnings compared with gross pay partly reflected the expansion of family tax allowances and tax benefits for mothers.

The higher family tax allowance introduced from July 1, 2025, and Jan. 1, 2026, as well as the personal income tax exemption introduced for mothers raising three children from Oct. 1, 2025, contributed to the increase. The figures were also affected by the exemption for mothers under 40 raising two children introduced from Jan. 1, 2026, and the expansion of the tax allowance for mothers under 30.

Regular average gross earnings, excluding premiums and one-month bonuses, stood at HUF 708,600, up 7.9% year-over-year.

Regular gross earnings averaged HUF 700,800 in the business sector, HUF 717,600 in the budgetary sector and HUF 757,600 in the nonprofit sector. These represented annual increases of 7.5%, 9% and 8.3%, respectively.

Median gross earnings reached HUF 617,900 in June, 8.8% higher than a year earlier.

Median net earnings stood at HUF 438,000, up 10.9% from June 2025.
