The university presented the results of the four-year project to the press on July 8. The program was designed to develop Corvinus’ digital infrastructure and support more modern, practice-oriented education.
At the press conference, Tibor Sopronyi, head of IT at the university and professional leader of the project, summarized the IT and educational technology developments carried out under the program.
As part of the project, six new hybrid classrooms were created, while 300 monitors and 290 laptops were purchased for staff. The university also installed new network devices and servers, renewed its wireless network, and upgraded its central server infrastructure and firewall system.
Educational technology and IT developments worth around HUF 550 million were implemented at the Gellért Campus, making it one of the most modern university campuses in Hungary, according to Corvinus.
The project also supported training and curriculum development. Nearly 170 training and curriculum development contracts were concluded with the participation of about 100 university lecturers.
Digital learning materials were created, while undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to artificial intelligence, data science and sustainability were updated. The university also organized training programs for teachers and staff to develop digital, ESG and AI-related competencies.
Katalin Ásványi, dean responsible for sustainability at Corvinus, said the project had allowed the university to further incorporate sustainability and social responsibility considerations into its educational, research and institutional practices.
The developments included decarbonization and energy efficiency workshops, sustainability and climate awareness training programs, the preparation of ESG learning materials, and an assessment of the university’s digital carbon footprint.
Csaba Csáki, dean responsible for artificial intelligence at Corvinus, presented curriculum developments related to AI. Examples included developments linked to AI in the social sciences, AI and its business applications, the Climate Policy and Regional Development master’s programs, seminars for first-year students, and AI training for staff.
The RRF-2.1.2-21-2022-00034 project, titled “Practice-oriented and Digital Developments at Corvinus,” was implemented between June 1, 2022 and June 30, 2026.
Corvinus said the development has strengthened its digital teaching capabilities, created a more modern learning environment for students, and supports the training of professionals prepared for the challenges of the future labor market.
