The office said police made the decision independently and notified prosecutors last Friday, news wire MTI reports.

At the prosecutor’s inquiry on Wednesday, police said they had searched Szakács’ home and questioned him.

Szakács later filed a complaint against the procedure and was released by police.

According to the statement, during the early stage of an investigation, police “determine on their own whether a suspicion is well-founded, without the prosecution’s consent.”

The prosecutor’s office added that it would “inform the public once the influencer’s complaint is addressed.”
