Hungarian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFH)

The CCIFH welcomed nearly 200 guests to its annual summer networking event, La Vie en Rose: Horizon Edition, held on June 12 at the picturesque Normafa Event House overlooking Budapest. Guests enjoyed a cocktail dinner, culinary tastings, live music featuring French chansons and swing, and a variety of interactive networking activities designed to encourage new connections and fresh perspectives. The chamber was honored by the presence of Minister of Interior Gábor Pósfai and State Secretary for Public Administration Katalin Sirály, who joined the event for part of the evening, underlining the importance of the long-standing economic relationship between France and Hungary.

The CCIFH is pleased to invite guests to a newly designed networking event presenting the latest members of the French chamber. This is not a typical cocktail evening, but a structured B2B after-work event, where participants can connect directly with new members and explore concrete business opportunities. The objective is to create meaningful connections and generate real business outcomes.

On June 9, more than 220 representatives of business, academia, research institutions, government and the innovation ecosystem gathered at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics for the first Swiss-Hungarian Innovation Forum, jointly organized by Swisscham Hungary, the Embassy of Switzerland in Hungary, and BME. The forum was created to provide a platform for dialogue on how innovation can contribute to competitiveness, economic growth and societal progress, while strengthening cooperation between Switzerland and Hungary. Distinguished speakers were welcomed from both countries, including Ambassador of Switzerland to Hungary Alexander Renggli; State Secretary for Science Policy and Innovation Péter Horváth; BME rector Hassan Charaf; the president of the Hun-Ren Hungarian Research Network, Balázs Gulyás; and the COO of the Hungarian Innovation Agency, Robert Somogyi. Panelists shared valuable insights on innovation ecosystems, technology transfer, research excellence and the path from laboratory to market. A particularly important message of the day came from State Secretary Horváth, who emphasized that the Hungarian government regards Switzerland as a model in supporting innovation and a strategic innovation partner. He highlighted that, like the Swiss approach, Hungary is committed to ensuring that research results reach the market as quickly as possible, creating tangible economic value and strengthening competitiveness. This message strongly resonated with the forum’s central theme of building closer links between research, higher education and industry, while unlocking new opportunities for cooperation in technology, digitalization and AI.

In the presence of more than 300 guests, the DUIHK launched a new campaign on Thursday, June 19, at its garden party in the leafy courtyard of the House of German Business in Budapest. This major networking event offers members and partners of the chamber a relaxed yet stimulating setting in which to forge new connections and discuss current issues. The key theme of the evening was that the economy needs rebooting in many areas. Economic stakeholders should capitalize on the optimism currently evident in Hungary, DUIHK president Róbert Keszte emphasized in his opening address. Whether it be dialogue, qualification, innovation, transformation, productivity or competitiveness, there is much to be done across many areas. The DUIHK aims to support this call to action with its “Reboot the Economy” campaign. As a strong partner, the German business community is an important part of the solution for the Hungarian economy.
