MOL sold its 15% stake in Waberer’s to private equity fund Főnix, managed by Gránit Asset Management, and acquired Főnix’s 15.38% stake in Alteo, boosting its holding in the alternative energy company to 39.97%.
MOL noted that both companies are listed and the transaction price was based on the 180-day average share price.
“The share packages included in the exchange can be considered equivalent, thus the transaction does not involve cash flows,” it added.
Parallel with the share swap, private equity fund Riverland, managed by Lead Ventures Fund Management, acquired a 9.22% stake in Alteo from Főnix.
The transactions are expected to close in Q2 2026, pending regulatory approval.
