The tenders cover concessions in Baracska, Bácsalmás, Békéscsaba, Kisköre, Nagylengyel-West, Tiszacsege and Tiszalök.

The ministry said the decision follows the positive results of the previous concession round in 2024, which was announced a week earlier.

After a five-year hiatus, the 2024 tender process resulted in the awarding of 20-year concessions in six areas, helping to boost domestic energy output.

In 2025, Hungary’s crude oil production rose to 1.17 million tonnes, the highest level in decades, while natural gas production reached 2 billion cubic meters, its highest volume since 2013, according to a report by news wire MTI.
