Szijjártó said that the support was the first to go to a video game developer since the government launched its investment incentive program 11 years ago.
He added that the project would support the creation of a number of high value added jobs in the capital.
Szijjártó said NeocoreGames developed video games with the latest technologies and new narrative methods using its own game game engine, and was well equipped to turn out the first Hungarian-developed Triple-A game.
He added that the government was ready to work with video game industry insiders to create an accommodating regulatory and investment environment, just as it did for the film industry.
“We have the human resources already, and we have to build on that an environment that will make Hungary successful in this new branch of industry,” he said.
Zsófia Jakab, the ministerial commissioner for developing creative industries, said the government had zeroed in on the fast-developing video game industry with a huge potential for exports.
