“In the letter published on Orbán’s official Facebook page on Friday, Trump wrote that he had been delighted to receive the Hungarian prime minister and his delegation at the White House to celebrate a “golden age” of U.S.-Hungarian relations.
“I look forward to further deepening cooperation in the areas of defense, energy, and illegal migration,” the letter dated December 10 reads.
Trump wrote that Orbán had always stood firm “to defend the principles that make Hungary a tremendous place — faith, family and sovereignty. America admires that kind of courage.”
Trump thanked Orbán for inviting him to Hungary, adding that his staff would be in touch regarding his schedule.
He expressed his gratitude to Orbán for his friendship and support, and wished him good luck in his election campaign.
