According to news wire MTI, Panyi said the projects were planned for cities all around the country as well as in Budapest and its environs.
He added that homes built that were postponed because of the pandemic, the energy crisis, high inflation and high interest rates would now be built.
Borrowers may take out up to HUF 50 million at a fixed rate of 3% under the Home Start scheme which launched September 1.
Panyi said price thresholds for Home Start eligibility — HUF 100 million for homes in apartment blocks, HUF 150 mln for detached homes and HUF 1.5 mln/square meter — were safeguards against home price inflation.
He added that homes that were priced 20% over the appraiser’s estimates would be excluded from the scheme.
