He noted that the average gross monthly wage has exceeded HUF 700,000 for four consecutive months, with net wages approaching HUF 500,000 and the median net salary nearing HUF 400,000.

Czomba credited an earlier agreement on minimum wage increases for boosting overall pay levels.

Acknowledging regional wage disparities, he said that gross average earnings in Budapest reach HUF 840,000/month, while in the underdeveloped northeast, the figure is HUF 513,000; however, nowhere does the gross average fall below HUF 500,000.

Wage convergence is ongoing, he added.

The highest salaries are found in the ICT, energy, and finance sectors, while workers in catering, commercial accommodations, agriculture, and construction earn the least.
